lonely

i'm lonely. not alone, but lonely. i have a fiance/boyfriend that i've mentioned before, but i'm still lonely. he works nights which makes me feel even more alone than normal.
i'm friendless. it's sad really. i think i'm a nice person, easy-going, fun, spontaneous, good listener. but...i can't seem to keep good quality friends. usually, i'm in a group of three or some other odd number. it doesn't start out like that, but it ends up that way more often than i care to remember. most of girlfriends either get a boyfriend and start doing things with him instead of me (understandable)...or we just plain part ways. life changes and we change.
i have a few "friends" that seem to linger through email forwards, but that's pretty much it.
i try not to dwell on it too much. i tell myself...i don't need friends...i've got Grey's Anatomy and blogger.com, of course.
i think that's part of the reason why i decided to start my own blog. i have to have someone to talk to. to vent my frustrations, my sorrows, my bores!
so...thank you...for reading and commenting. i appreciate it.
maybe i should get a pet. perhaps then i won't feel so lonely. i'll always have a little warm body to snuggle up with at night. :)

This post sounds exactly like something I would say... My boyfriend/fiancee (we're technically on a break right now, due to some issues that have risen but I wasn't sure if you read that part of the blog) also works nights and right now he's even out of state so I REALLY don't see him. On top of it, I just moved to where I am now and have no friends here. I have one female friend, but every time she drinks she's a bitch sooo I try to limit that.

Anyway, I just wanted to come and say hello again and thank you for your comment.

I think, and hope, we'll both be able to do each other some good through these blogs.

Just remember you are not alone.

YES, YES get a pet. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have Molly my dog. She keeps me company.
I am an empty nester and I work at home so not a lot of friends either. My husband works some long hours and I only see him a couple hours a day.

I don't like lonely days much. I have days where I can be alone all day and not feel lonely, just peaceful, content, and thankful for the quiet. Then I have days where I hate the quiet and being alone and want my famiy home desperately. Random and crazy I know. :) Sorry you're feeling lonely.

Hey there Ann. :)
New Blogger here. Nosing about and saw yours.
I hear you, and it's like hearing myself some days.
I'm a bit of a hermit at heart and love my privacy to extremes at times.
Other days I'm where you're at.
I hope you feel better/more connected tomorrow.
What about a cat...? Landlords are usually less finiky about them.

Ann,

You don't really want a pet, do you? Let your blood circulate, get out, do something that adds definition and purpose to who Ann is. Take a class, volunteer, you have a talented eye for art. Whatever is in you is crying to be unleashed.

Don't sit there encased in four walls; you have a lifetime ahead of you to be "lived".

Do It!

U

we seem to have so much in common! it just amazes me at how some people can have millions of friends and I have no idea how they do it
you seem to be a very nice and funny person though and I do enjoy reading your posts very much. I'm glad that you decided to join the blogging world :)
pets are always a nice addition. especially dogs. they are very loving and they're always excited to see you when you arrive home.
sadly, I'm not allowed to have pets where I live now. when I lived with my parents, though, they own two small pomeranians and I just adored them to pieces. they have their own little personalities and it's just fun to watch them.

My dear Ann,

I think you are absolutely wonderful. It's funny how similar I think we are just from reading your blog... I guess everyone goes through feeling lonely, I know exactly how you feel though... like, when you're not necessarily physically alone but somehow on the inside there is no getting rid of the emptiness. Try something new and illegal! It'll make you feel better :) lol No really, do something you enjoy. Write down the things that you like, and do them, alone or with a friend or boyfriend or whatever. I think doing the simple things you enjoy will fill the loneliness void-because you're doing it for you and no one else. Everything else will follow. Plus, you get to meet new people and maybe see some new things!

And yes, I think a pet is a wonderful idea; and I know I'm responding to this post a ridiculous amount of time after you posted it but I would love to know how things are for you regardless.

All my best,

Mildred xoxo
